Legalization of Documents
Please note that the Power of Attorney (procuration) process has been digitized through the Irembo platform. Applicants can submit all required documents online without sending physical copies. Once approved, the document will be issued electronically and sent by email, complete with a QR code for verification.
Please read the requirements below carefully:
1. A valid Consular Card is required for all Rwandan Applicants.
2. If you do not yet have a Consular Card, you will need to apply for one separately. Click here for more information about Consular Card application.
3. All documents including the Power of Attorney—must be notarized by a local public notary in your area of residence before being uploaded through Irembo platform (irembo.gov.rw) for legalization
4. For non Rwandans Applicants, documents must first be authenticated by the U.S. State Department at the Federal Level prior to uploading them on the Irembo platform for legalization.
