Rwanda’s Latest Household Living Conditions Survey is Out!

The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda on Wednesday April 16, 2025 released the 7th Integrated Household Living Conditions Survey (EICV7), showcasing strong progress in key development indicators:

  • Over 1.5 million people lifted out of poverty since 2017
  • Poverty rate declined from 39.8% to 27.4%
  • Extreme poverty dropped from 11.3% to 5.4%

The report also highlights significant improvements in access to essential services: 

- Electricity access more than doubled — from 34.4% to 72%
- Mobile phone ownership rose from 66.9% to 84.6%
- Internet access increased from 17% to 30%

These results reflect the effectiveness of Rwanda’s national strategies and reaffirm the country’s commitment to inclusive development, aligned with Vision 2050 and NST2 goals.
